Reema Sathe

Founder & Director

Reema has a decade’s experience in food services & food manufacturing industry. After quitting her corporate career in Yr 2014, she has spent over three years working with tribal farmers in Gujarat & Maharashtra. She has built sustainable value chains across fresh produce and cereals & grains. She is a recipient of Nari Shakti Puraskar’16 from the Hon’ble President of India, for her work to empower rural women in Maharashtra. She is also the winner of Pheonix Leading Lady Award’17 (Social innovation) and is an UnLtd India Fellow. 

Kanak Khare

Lead – Operations & Rural partnerships

Kanak has accomplished her master’s in Agriculture Economics and was previously a Research associate at IIM-Ahmedabad. She has extensively worked on planning & execution of livelihood programs in the states of Odisha, Gujarat & Maharashtra for tribal farmers. She has also worked with NABARD and WOTR and comes with hands on knowledge on rural supply chain. 

Devastotra Poddar

Advisor – Food technology & Product development

Devastotra is a PhD in Food technology from Massey University, New Zealand. He is also a Dairy technologist and a Master in Dairy microbiology. He is an expert in the field of probiotic beverages, fermentation technology & functional foods. At Happy Roots he helps us with our food technology and product development process.

Prajkta Markandeya

Lead – Product development & Training

Prajkta has more than seven years of experience in the food services industry in India & USA. A teacher by profession, Prajkta always had a passion for food and started her journey in the industry in Cincinnati. She is an expert in Mexican & South Asian cuisine. At Happy Roots she takes care of our product development and training for rural women. 

Kirti Gupta

Intern – Packaging design

Kirti is a final year student at MIT, College of Design and specialises in Product design and packaging. High on energy and creativity, she helps Happy Roots makes it’s packaging better for it’s different channel needs. 

Ashutosh Bharti

Volunteer (Operations, Marketing)

Ashutosh is a young engineer who believes that farmers are the greatest engineers on planet earth and yet the most undervalued ones. His idea of social change lies at the intersection of good food & farmer empowerment. At Happy Roots, Ashutosh works as a volunteer and aspires to contribute to a bigger social change.
